The Room

During our stay in the Enchanted Castle Suite, we were greeted by an interactive world filled with delightful surprises. From a trumpet on the upper deck that changes voices to hidden UV elements on mural walls, the suite sparks imagination and wonder. Stunning views of Victoria Peak and Hong Kong Park provide a breathtaking backdrop for unforgettable family memories.

The highlight of this floor is that parents and children get their own separate bedrooms. Little ones can immerse themselves in imaginative play within their creatively themed rooms, complete with interactive bunk beds, role-play costumes, treasure boxes filled with loose play items, and even a special letterbox. Meanwhile, parents can relax in a spacious, beautifully styled bedroom with breathtaking views of Victoria Harbour and the Kowloon Peninsula. Additionally, guests staying on the Family Floor enjoy a complimentary buffet breakfast at the hotel’s main restaurant, TOO.

Having fun with the interactive bunk beds! Fun fact: the sound swtich for the trumpet is located in the parent’s room. Our daughter thought the trumpet was a telescope.

We absolutely loved our room—it was breathtaking. We particularly appreciated the thoughtful touches, like the hand-painted wallpaper, and the fact that each room on the Family Floor is uniquely designed, with its own distinctive character and charm.

The Amenities

When it comes to family-friendly amenities, Shangri-La Hong Kong truly excels, offering both convenience for parents and a visually pleasing environment. Meal times become something to look forward to with the ‘Grab and Go’ corner, affectionately known as ‘The Hangout.’ This fully stocked kitchen boasts a rotating selection of fresh sandwiches, juices, and sweet treats, along with a daily ice cream trolley that arrives at 5 PM. Guests can enjoy their meals in the Sitting Room, which offers stunning panoramic city views, or take their food back to the comfort of their rooms. The kitchen is replenished daily, meaning you can even grab a refreshing snack or drink during your evening wind-down.

But our absolute favorite amenity on the Family Floor is the Pantry. This glass-enclosed space offers every childcare essential you could imagine—from Stokke highchairs and Bugaboo strollers to bottles, diapers, bath toys, and even washing machines. It’s a parent’s dream come true, ensuring that all the little details are covered and making life just that bit easier while traveling.

As a snack enthusiast, I thoroughly enjoyed stopping by to grab a sweet treat or two, which I’d happily take back to the room with me.

The Activities

Daily workshops and activities enhance the experience; our kids loved the soap-making class and crafts in the Workshop Room. When not engaged in activities, they splashed around in the rooftop waterplay area while we relaxed with cold beverages nearby.

The family floor at Shangri-La Hong Kong is a peaceful retreat designed for communal enjoyment, allowing families to relax without concern for noise or mess. Its interconnecting rooms and thoughtful aesthetics create a welcoming sanctuary after a day of exploring the city. For an exceptional family getaway, we highly recommend the Shangri-La.
